So, we’ve decided to integrate some stepper motors to our new robots / extended body design. In this post you will find some tests we made using Pololu A49 Stepper Motor Driver and also with a DK Electronics motor shield , everything coded with Arduino and MAX MSP.

What we want to do is to follow Marc’s vertical rotation like this:

To achieve this, we are now using Nema 17 Stepper Motors with an A49 Stepper Motor Driver and also with a DK Electronics motor shield.

As our codes are made in MAX/MSP we had to upgrade Firmatta to Configurable Firmatta on our Arduino boards . This is to talk to Arduino through MAX/MSP using Maxuino’s library and has been working perfect for us.Configurable Firmatta now allows to controll stepper motors … just what we wanted!
